If you're having a hard time finding joy in your life you're not alone. I had all of the
joy zapped right out of me when my oldest son died of pneumonia a little over seven
years ago. I couldn't think of anything but losing him. Every day all I could do was cry
and I only did stuff that I had to do like going to work and grocery shopping. There
was nothing that I wanted to do.
Five years after he died I began to remember the joy that writing gave me, so I made
the decision to start this blog. My hope was that maybe by helping other people I
could somehow help myself too. So far it has helped. I can now focus on what brings
me joy instead of what brings me sadness. Other than writing I also like to read a lot
(which I used to never do), draw, and take pictures.
No matter what you're going through you've got to find some joy in something. You
have to find something positive to focus on, because if you don't you will have a very
hard time finding any joy at all.
